BMS Re entra en Brasil
BMS Re ha iniciado operaciones en Brasil, bajo el nombre de BMS Brasil Corretora de Resseguros (BMS Re Brasil), que tendrá su sede en Sao Paulo. José Leão, CEO de BMS Re en Brasil, y Judi Newsam, Presidenta, liderarán las nuevas operaciones que reportarán a Aidan Pope, CEO y presidente ejecutivo de BMS en América Latina y el Caribe, en Miami. BMS Re Brazil se centrará en los servicios de reaseguro facultativo y de tratados, respaldados por los centros del Grupo en Miami, Londres y otros lugares.
Newsam tiene una amplia experiencia en el mercado de reaseguros de América Latina, habiendo sido anteriormente Directora General de la operación de Guy Carpenter en Brasil, donde dirigió el funcionamiento diario de las dos oficinas de la firma en Río de Janeiro y Sao Paulo. Antes de eso, trabajó para Benfield en Brasil como office head, comenzando su carrera trabajando en el mercado de Londres. Leão ha trabajado en la industria del reaseguro durante más de una década y se une a BMS Re desde su puesto más reciente como Vicepresidente en Guy Carpenter Brasil. Antes de esto, trabajó como suscriptor en IRB Re.

BMS Re enters Brazil
BMS Re has launched operations in Brazil, under the name BMS Brasil Corretora de Resseguros (BMS Re Brazil), which will be headquartered in Sao Paulo. José Leão, CEO of BMS Re in Brazil, and Judi Newsam, President, will lead the new operations which will report to Aidan Pope, CEO & Executive Chairman of BMS in Latin America & the Caribbean, in Miami. BMS Re Brazil will focus on facultative and treaty reinsurance services, supported by the Group’s hubs in Miami, London and elsewhere.
Newsam has extensive experience in the Latin American reinsurance market, having previously been a managing director and country head for Guy Carpenter’s Brazil operation, where she led the day-to-day running of the firm’s two offices in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. Before that, she worked for Benfield in Brazil as an office head, beginning her career working in the London market. Leão has worked in the reinsurance industry for over a decade and joins BMS Re from his most recent role as a vice president at Guy Carpenter Brazil. Prior to this he worked as an underwriter at IRB Re.
